email, from Dad to Mom...

Just sitting here thinking about how awesome it will be to witness you being a Mom. Seeing you interact with Baby James...and then, as he grows up, all the fun stuff we'll get to do...taking him to holiday festivals...going trick-or-treating...celebrating his first birthday...Christmas...it's just so awesome to think about all these things. The closer we get to his birth, the more I think about all the fun things we'll get to do and how we'll experience life with a completely different perspective. I get so excited just sitting here thinking about it.

Week 22

A boy!

100% sure! Here is a video of your sonogram...about 5 minutes worth. And then the nurse told me I wasn't supposed to be filming!

Week 19

Week 18 (missed week 17 for Aunt Kaykay and Uncle Kent's wedding)

...is the chance that you are a boy! Mom had a sonogram at work today, and it appears that you are a little boy. Mom said it was very neat watching you move around, opening and closing your hands, seeing your eyes...I wish I could have seen you. She will be bringing pictures home. We'll post them here. We love you.

PS...I blew my knee out playing softball last night. No more sports for me for awhile. Which means I'll have to live vicariously through your athletic endeavors...whether you're a boy or a girl. Also, we'll be visiting Nonna and Gramps this weekend, and then off to Florida to watch your Aunt Kay and Uncle Kent get married. Exciting weekend...just stinks that my knee is screwed up. Had you been here, you could have been in the wedding! There is always Uncle Timmy's, when he gets married.

Oh, and as for names...if you ARE a boy, you'll be James Walden Brewer IV. If you're a girl, we're leaning to Bailey Anne, Brailey Anne, or Cora Rose.

Mommy and the puppy...

...that lies on you (and your Mom's belly) every night.  You've probably heard more of her (the puppy is Bella) heartbeat than of your own.  You'll love her and Molly.  And they will be very protective of you.   We love you...and we can't wait to meet you!

Week 14

From Mom...

Today Daddy asked me to write something for your blog…you will find that he is much more computer/tech savvy than I. It is Friday, August 20th, 2010, my 29th birthday; but all I can think of is when YOUR birthday will be. We are so excited to meet you! Two days ago Daddy and I heard your heartbeat. Doc found it on the first try! Your heartbeat is also the first thing Dad noticed during your first sonogram. We know that you will have a wonderful, strong heart…just like your parents. We love you already!

Almost 14 weeks in, and we've only shared what you look like on the outside. Inside your Mom's womb, you look something like this! Amazing to see how fast you are developing, how strong you are growing, and how beautiful you are.

Birthday gift to dad...

...your Uncle Scott bought this rare beer for your Dad in Oregon.  Your Mom asked a few times when I was going to drink it.  I explained, "not until we found out we were having a kid!"  When we found out you were conceived, I didn't hesitate to share this with your Uncle Tim.  For your Pop's 34th birthday, your Mom framed this for me.  It is beautiful.  It will always remind me of you. 

By the way, we got to hear your heart beat today.  It was awesome and amazing...i can't wait to meet you!  We love you.

Doctor's visit number two..

...and all is well.  Mom's blood work and other tests all came back with great results.  We go back on August 18th (day after my birthday, two days before your Mom's) to the doctor...should be able to catch a listen to your heartbeat.  A great birthday present for the two of us...you're keeping your Mom tired and hungry...and causing a little back pain.  We'll be in Mississippi to celebrate Aunt-tee's birthday tomorrow, then off to visit Jason and Toni for a nice relaxing weekend on the reservoir.  We wish you were here to join us...but we understand.  We love you!

So we caught our first glimpse of your heartbeat today.  Kinda resembled a gummy bear!  You are tentatively scheduled to join us on February 26, 2011...the same birthdate as your late grandmother.  I got a bit emotional...your mother was every bit excited!  We won't know if you're a boy or girl until October.  You are beautiful.

This is for us...

...and for someone we have yet to meet.  I already love you so much.  We go in two days to have our first listen to your heartbeat.  To say we are excited is an understatement!  To say we are without fear and anxiety would be to lie.
